Raz Segal, Associate Professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Stockton University, will discuss how Israel’s assault on Gaza since October 2023 fits the definition of the crime of genocide in international law. Segal will also demonstrate how the weaponization of Holocaust memory by the government of Israel and its supporters, including the weaponization of the struggle against antisemitism, serves to dehumanize Palestinians and justify their destruction and erasure. Ernesto Verdeja, Associate Professor of Peace Studies and Global Politics at Notre Dame and Dr. Thalia Pachiyannakis, South Bend-based MD OBGYN, will respond.

Note: Bags and backpacks will not be allowed inside the venue. A locked storage space will be provided on site. Photography and videography recording are strictly prohibited by all attendees at this event.
